HOW OUR SCARVES ARE MADE

OUR PROCESS: COTTON GOODS

Read through the pictures below to learn what being handmade REALLY means.

All of our cotton products start with cotton grown in Sop Chem.

Next, plants and materials from the jungle are chopped, muddled, and prepared to be boiled in water to extract color.

Cotton bundles are then added to pots of boiling plants and materials. The longer a bundle spends boiling, the deeper and richer its color.

Once dyed, cotton bundles are hung to dry.

Dyed cotton is then spun into spindles and prepared to be woven.

Like all of our products, cotton scarves are woven on looms handmade from wood from the surrounding jungle.  A normal size cotton scarf takes between 2 and 3 days to weave and a large cotton scarf takes between 7 and 10 days to complete.
